Barrels & Ashes
Barrels & Ashes is a bar and eating house based in Richmond NSW offering a modern Australian menu with a smokehouse twist. Barrels & Ashes was a new business concept when we commenced working with the team. Our brief was to develop the Barrels & Ashes brand from scratch. We designed the Barrels & Ashes logo, website and all marketing collateral.
About this project
Our brief was to create a responsive website with maximum visual impact for Barrels & Ashes that showcases the menu, bar and food offering, whilst also offering a quick and convenient booking system for guests.
More recently, due to Covid-19 requirements, we put in place an online menu accessible via QR code so guests can view menus online. Whilst in lockdown situations the team pivots to offer a range of Heat@Home options, pantry and takeaway cocktails that are available to order online. We integrated Shopify ‘buy buttons’ into the Barrels & Ashes WordPress site providing the full benefits of a fully hosted eCommerce platform without having to worry about the additional security measures required of websites with online shopping functionality. The Shopify backend was configured to include pick up and delivery options; including the ability for customers to define their pick up timeframes. Tipping functionality was also enabled.
The site is built on the WordPress content management system, enabling Barrels & Ashes to manage content on the website themselves. Being responsive, the website renders well across all devices – PC, tablet and smartphones.

Webhance also crafted Barrels and Ashes’ Google presence; including Google+ page creation, place creation and positioning on Google Maps. We also designed the Barrels & Ashes logo and continue to provide graphic design and social media services to the team.
Logo Design
Our brief was to create a stylish logo for Barrels & Ashes with a friendly, retro feel that highlights the ‘barrels’ concept. Through use of imagery and funky fonts, we were able to design a logo that fit the brief exactly.
