Webhance is a small web design studio based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Operated by Julie Spears with the objective of providing affordable, functional and beautiful web design, website maintenance, graphic design and associated services to small and medium sized businesses across Australia.
My focus is to deliver one web design project at a time, thus ensuring that your website is delivered on time and within budget. Working with me is easy. I believe that communication is key and I always agree all requirements for your web design project, website maintenance and/or graphic design up front. With me, there are no surprises. There are also no middle men or sales people. It’s just me and I’m 100% committed to the success of your project!
Your website is your face to the world!
I’m here to help you shine in the best possible light…
Hi! I am the owner and principal coder at Webhance.
I have been a die hard coder since 2009. My web design career started with the basics – HTML and CSS – however I now do a lot of work with content management systems. WordPress, Shopify and Joomla are favourites, but it’s important to select the right platform for the job.
My background is in Intranet Management within Corporate Communications and, prior to that, Human Resources. The skills gained in these areas give me the nice edge of being able to talk to people and understand requirements as well as create the code and make the magic happen!
Talk to me about your project and discover a solution that meets all of your requirements, looks fantastic and doesn’t cost a small fortune!

"Julie was friendly and professional from the outset. Her prices were very reasonable and she was able to adjust my website as needed until I was happy with the final product. Julie got the job done quickly and patiently answered my questions along the way. I now feel confident to manage my own website going forward, with the support of Webhance should I need it in the future."Alice Warner,
"In May 2016 we commissioned Webhance to design a website for SOS-Australia and this was completed and published ‘on line’ by the end of June. During the process of development we were in regular contact with Webhance’s principal, Julie Spears, who provided guidance and technical advice in response to our commissioning specifications. In every respect our needs were not only satisfied but exceeded. From initial contact to completion, Julie was impressively professional. She was always responsive to our instructions, punctual in her delivery, and her final design validated our confidence in selecting her to produce our project. We can confidently recommend her to any potential client."Ellis B J Wayland AM RFD ED,
"Dear Julie Thank you for creating a fantastic website for our Society. It is fresh, relevant and easy to navigate. Feedback from members has been extremely positive with many asking “who did the website”. On a personal note I wish to thank you for all the work you did working within our specific requirements. It was always a pleasure dealing with you. You were prompt with any question I had and helped me to understand how this site can not only work for us now but how to maintain/make changes to data for the future. I look forward to continuing our working relationship."Meredith Freeman,
"I can highly recommend Webhance for website design. We are a small business and needed a great site to express our vision, that is easy to update, and allowed clients to communicate with us out of hours. Julie provided guidance and great ideas to redesign our site. I wanted certain features on the website and Julie made the ideas work and improved on most of them. She was easy to communicate with, open to feedback, but would also speak up when she could see the idea would not achieve what was intended, thus saving time in the long run. We now have a site that looks great and is easy for us to update when we need to."Nigel Dunsford,
